| July 11th, 2003 I added a New TMaxx 2.5 to the collection |
| July 12th, 2003.The TMaxx 2.5M Pages where added |
| This is the place where I tell about the TMaxx 2.5M, First off some serious thought went into it's designation. Of course it's about my 7th TMaxx but my first 2.5 version. I debated for months over this or the OFNA Dominator. After cost and overall reliability, and several other less significant factors I decided on the Traxxas TMaxx 2.5 |
| July 11th, 2003: I purchased this new TMaxx with racing it in mind. Break-in is planned for tomorrow. Tonight the radio and receiver get switched out and the correct wheels for racing and setup are taken care of. I can't wait to see this truck pull a wheelie. |
| July 12th, 2003: After the small trouble with the EZ start never actually turning the new motor over I installed the pull start and finally got 4 tanks run through it. Temps and break in went real well and as the motor got a few more tanks through it, it actually ran cooler. Yes I pulled a couple wheelies the first one caught me by surprise seeing how I lowered the ride height and softened the springs. Although it seems a little bouncy but can be adjusted. |
| July 13th, 2003: Only took it for a test tank around the track. still ran great. Never got to race it. Will be finishing the mods necessary this week for next weeks racing. I'm positive this truck will be a tough truck to beat on race day. Plenty of power and a little touchy throttle. But seems to bounce the rear end over. |
|
July 30th, 2003: After 2 tries at racing this truck I need to make some serious setup changes. 1st thing is to get the ride height and slow shock return rate correct. So I changed the springs and rebuilt the shocks with 32 1/2 wt Team Losi shock oil and changed the shock inserts to the 3 hole ones provided with the TMaxx RTR. After not liking the tuning and running characteristics of the 2.5 motor with the CVEC Pipe I purchased a New Macs pipe and will install it tonight. I also think part of the jumping and flight traits trouble is caused by the Hummer body so I'm painting a new Sierra LP by Proline right now will have it ready for this Sunday. Purple with ghost flames. |

August 7th, 2003: Okay after three tries and some very dismal finishes, I think I'm getting closer. The motor and Macs Pipe run great and have nearly as much punch as a big block dominator. First gear is shifting to quick but, nice top end. Now the suspension and setup are somewhat illusive. Getting closer to where it needs to be but I fear I'll spend the rest of the outdoor season tuning and tweaking the suspension. Going to go with some softer springs and tighter shock positioning. I ditched the OFNA adapters and wheels for RPM offsets. It seems to turn quick enough now. I hope soon I will have the suspension worked out and this will be an awesome truck ready for a race to happen. |

September 9th, 2003: Okay three more tries gets me a lot closer to the ready to really race truck I am seeking. TOT purple springs seem to have about made the stock shocks as good as possible. This truck fits the small block Monster truck stock class perfect and runs very competitively with all big block trucks there so far. Will decide in the next month whether or not to use this truck and modify it more for next year or the winter indoor races this January. Custom cutting a stock pair of TMaxx tires maybe to make them more flexible and better traction, Results of that project to come soon. |

| March 21st, 2004: A total make over and a test run and weigh in is giving me some really fabulous results and numbers. A freshly Custom Painted Proline Sierra Stadium truck body by "You Know Who" A Racers Edge chassis with Rustler gas tank, no battery box, no switch, no receiver box and custom servos mounts and antenna mount. Shaved skid plates and RPM skid plates, MIP CVD's all the way thru the truck. Now I ran the truck bashing in the yard with a few jumps and turns and it handled great and pulled wheelies in the grass with Proline TMaxx Terra tires. Oh the weight with Proline Bowties and RPM Titans it weighs 7.99 pounds with a full load of fuel. 40 series bowties coming for racing season, more then.
