*** The 9.5 MBX with the new R&B Motor is still undergoing a learning curve on how I tune. A great first heat but a little warm it alone managed me a 2nd place qualifying in the B-Main. The tuning trying to get the temp down a little and tire drama caused terrible 2nd and third round qualifiers. With the thoughts the B-Main was 7 minutes I didn't get a pit man or prepare to refuel. 5 Minutes in to the main I discovered it was a ten minute main. I just prayed I had it lean enough and could keep the temp low enough to finish the ten minutes without stopping. Well I did but only managed a 2nd place with 39 laps at a 10:0014. or close. great race I drove pretty good the motor stay fairly normal but I could tell when it heated up. I only lost by 1 lap. Oh by the way the TMaxx 2.5 took the TQ in Monster truck and the A-Main win by 3 laps. Great day for the truck good day for the Buggy. |

*** The 9.5 MBX with the new R&B Motor is very finicky when it comes to tuning, Had some serious tuning issues until the B-Main witch I qualified 4th. I put up a good come from behind and hacker race to finish 1st by .37th of one second. Still the motor was a little warm. I guess a good day. I was hoping for a bump up but not at this race. |
| 11/30/2003 | ***The 9.5 MBX was today's only entry, Ran real good in the first qualifier then things fell apart. The new R&B motor is still in it's breaking in process and didn't run so well, so I finished in not bad shape with a third in the B-Main. Still working on the setup and tires and such for indoors and trying to prepare for a big race in January |
| 10/19/2003 | ****The TMaxx 2.5M TQ'd again today but wasn't able to pull a win, 2nd place in the A-main was the results. Just unable to keep up with those big block Monsters. The 9.5 MBX ran flawlessly and I toyed with tire selection and pulled a win in the A-Main by using the seriously worn out stock x= tires |
| 10/12/2003 | ****The TMaxx 2.5M TQ'd today and was able to avoid the TQ jinx with a first place in the A-Main. as my stock 2.5 motor and another 2wd TMaxx beat out 3 big block trucks. Chalk one up for reliability today. The 9.5 MBX ran flawlessly as usual and I pulled a tough fought 2nd place in the A-Main. I had wished for the TQ jinx to work in the Buggy class and it also was absent in this class today as the TQ driver took the win by a entire lap. |
| 10/5/2003 | ****The TMaxx 2.5M had a decent day with great qualify runs and a hard fought battle with a big block dominator but came out 2nd place today in the A-Main. The 9.5 MBX didn't have a great day, actually it was the driver, I finally got my stuff together toward the end of the race and was in second with the fuel tank emptying 20 feet from the Finish line creating a 3rd place 1 lap down from the leaders. All caught on video tape, Coming Soon ! |
| 9/21/2003 | ****Okay the Maxx 2.5M was not doing so hot today but with the driver I don't see as how the truck made a lot of difference. Most of the competitors had trouble and I was able to TQ and pull out a win in the A-Main. The 9.5 MBX was a different story, the TQ jinx in affect and hosts of worthy competition I only managed a second place in the A-Main but was beat by almost an entire lap. |
| 9/14/2003 | ****The TMaxx 2.5M is race ready now, finally after all the changes and tests. A TQ and a first place finish and it ran well and 2nd place was real close, a good race. The 9.5 MBX had a banner day with the TQ for the A-main and an outstanding run in the A-Main for the win in 1/8th scale buggy open class |
| 9/7/2003 | **** The TMaxx 2.5M is finally getting close to race ready Taking the TQ in monster truck and the win after a really great close race in reverse direction on the track. As usual the 9.5 MBX ran flawlessly and my driving was the deciding factor in a 4th place in the A-Main, the fact I switched tires for the final qualifier and the main had a little to do with the bad results, the new mug shots offered a lot more forward traction and a substantial amount of side bite causing me to roll over several times |
| 8/31/2003 | **** Bluewater R/C's Nitro Cash Dash turned out to be a pretty horrible day as my driving and cool can't seem to get through the pressure of a big race. Not to mention the fact that the MBX 9.5 had mechanical trouble in 2 heats and the final making a dead last DNF for 1/8th scale buggy. The TMaxx 2.5M didn't do any better with a great first qualifier and then it fell to pieces a broken pressure nipple on the pipe caused a very slow second qualifier and a total DNS in the third qualifier making me 5th on the final starting grid. with the stock pipe in place and a poorly tuned motor for it, I managed a 3rd place in monster truck. Oh a close second in the monster truck king of the hill. I should have won that one but got cocky near the end and flipped over backwards |
| 8/17/2003 | **** The MBX 9.5 ran great all day and got me a third place in the A-Main. The TMaxx 2.5M was flawless also today with minor tuning and some calm driving it placed me 1st place in the Monster truck class and the TQ was mine also. |
| 8/10/2003 | **** Once again The OFNA 9.5 MBX ran really well, but I placed 3rd because 2 better drivers just outright kicked my ass of course after the mid point in the main I fell apart trying to make up lost time. Once again a smooth drive with the TMaxx and great running ability of that nearly stock truck gets me a TQ and a Monster Truck class win today |
| 8/3/2003 | **** What a day ! TQ with both the TMaxx 2.5M and The OFNA 9.5 MBX, However an early indication of my ability this season as I fell apart in both mains getting a second place in Monster truck main and a third place in 1/8th scale buggy |
| 7/27/2003 | **** Okay the Maxx 2.5M was not doing so hot today but with the big CVEC pipe it just wasn't running well. The setup is getting closer but still not good enough. I TQ'd with it but managed a second place in the main losing by 16 seconds and being penalized 1 lap for a false start. If I would have started correctly I could have put a lap on the second place driver, instead I'm second this week. The 9.5 MBX was running great, got the fuel thing solved. I TQ'd with it running 10 lap qualifiers. I seriously fell apart in the main and with a sudden weather change it actually stalled after 8 laps making me 4th place overall. Next week isn't soon enough. |
| 7/20/2003 | **** The newest addition in the TMaxx Family here got the runs today the TMaxx 2.5M still needs some setup work and modifications to be really competitive. Had some major tuning trouble and serious trouble with running out of fuel. So I packed everything thing up after the qualifiers and headed home not racing in the mains. |
| 7/6/2003 | **** Well the TMaxx 1RB & TMaxx 1MB shared today's races in the Monster Truck class. Won the first qualifier with 1MB, it broke in the second and I took second. Mechanical trouble in the third heat with the TMaxx 1RB gets me second there too, Qualified 2nd and took the Main win with a comfortable margin and an ailing TMaxx 1RB. Whew! After adding a head shim and going to 30% fuel this week the OFNA 9.5 MBX was running great in all 3 qualifiers. Yep I TQ'd with the awesome 9.5 MBX. Well the main was a totally different world. I placed third after running out of fuel on the last lap. When I finally am able to keep it together with my driving in the main and the tuning down, man look out. I have a good / really good feeling about next week. |
| 6/29/2003 | **** Well the TMaxx 1RB does the job again. I TQ'd with it and took an uncontested win in the A-Main. The OFNA 9.5 MBX was yet another battle to get 3 qualifiers and a main out of it. Sometime during the first heat the pull starter went away and at the beginning of heat 2 I had no way to start it. By the main I was able to get a new pull starter from the other OFNA buggy to make it run for the A-Main. At the three minute mark on the back straight it stalled, a friendly marshal re-fired it in time for me to keep second place but I finished second toady just under 9 seconds back. Very disappointing after almost having a lap ion the rest of the field. |
| 6/22/2003 | **** Only Raced in 1/8th scale buggy. Not one of my easier days but a second place in the A-Main with the 1/8th scale buggies, the OFNA 9.5 MBX took a whole bunch of tuning and three qualifying heats with late starts due to a seemingly unfixable stalling problem when ever it saw the beginning of the heats. After starting all three heats at least 20 seconds behind I managed to qualify 4th in the A-Main. After a crazy first lap getting around the top three qualifiers it was smooth sailing for a minute then the A-main winner/ Kurt caught me and got by pretty smoothly. A couple minutes of great racing with Jim Green and finally that exchange was over when his buggy had some mechanical trouble, 4 minutes in I was being lapped by the leader. at the 5 minute mark I was on my 9th lap 20 feet short of a 10th lap. A fair ending, a fun day. |
| 6/15/2003 | **** Pretty much 3rd place in all heats and the final with the 9.5 MBX, tuning wasn't much of an issue but my driving needs work. Now the Monster truck class using the TMaxx 1RB I TQ'd and won the A-Main. Some really good racing there today. All competitors where up to the challenge making it a very close race. |
| 6/8/2003 | **** All races after the 2nd heats where rained out. but was TQ in the monster truck class with the TMaxx 1RB and up to second position in qualifying with the 9.5 MBX in the 1/8th scale buggy class, Most likely would have finished in those spots had the rain held off for another 90 minutes |
| 6/1/2003 | **** Today was an easy Day in Monster truck with a win in that class due to most of the top competitors breaking and not making the Main Race. In the 8th scale buggy class a third place in the main due to the fact I am unable to get used to tuning this motor. and the fact my driving skills are improving with this type of car. I feel I would have won had I been able to tune it good enough to make it all the way through a 6 minute main |
| 5/18/2003 | **** Today was definitely a really good day for this early in the season. The first time I have ever raced an 1/8th scale 4wd buggy and I placed first in all three qualifiers and had a rocky main but was able to pull off the win by an entire lap. In the 8 minute main I stalled off the line and then once at the five minute mark and then needed to stop for fueling. Thanks to a quick marshal and a fast pit crew. Then the Monster truck was a totally different story but the exact same outcome. The TMaxx 1RB was able to pull off a win in the final. The monster truck heats weren't very successful ending up with a 3rd qualify start for the main. The Ultra Monster MBX suffered from steering trouble in the first and third heats and didn't even make the finish. But the TMaxx 1rb after a battery dump in the second heat was charged and ready for the main. It won but it had ruined the bearings in the right rear and needs to be fixed. Yes it beat 2 HPI Savage 21's and a dominator and a freaky stock TMaxx in the main. |
| 4/27/2003 | ****Well this was truly the worst day I've ever had the steering trouble with the new Monster MBX plagued me all day for a last place overall. On the good side thru a couple fast heats I qualified 3rd overall, but never really actually race the entire time in any heat I didn't even enter the main as the third fastest. Almost a month since I raced last and I did worse. The Monster MBX is being converted back to the 9.5 MBX Buggy |
| 3/23/03 | ***Well I have had better days, well worse days also. 4th in the first heat due to bad tunning.4th in the 2nd heat after throttle lever loosened and stuck open. 3rd in the 3rd heat with just some really fast drivers and trucks, More linkage trouble and a late start with more linkage trouble in the A-Main created a 6th of 7th place by the main I had it down if truck would have help uot for the 20 minute main I could have done a whole lot better in all the TMaxx 1RB had a rough day, me too. |
| 3/15/03 | ***Another great day of racing the TMaxx 1RB, First heat 4th place, Second heat 4th place, Then in the 3rd heat I figured out the track and nearly got me the top qualifying time, I did land in second place for the start of the A-Main. Really good race with Jim Green's Dominator, but I won the A-Main. No broken anything The TMaxx 1RB ran flawlessly. |
