The Traxxas AWD Nitro 4-Tec 1/10 Scale Radio Control Touring Car |
| NITRO 4-Tec Menu ( MAIN OVERVIEW MODIFICATIONS PHOTOS ) NITRO 4-Tec Menu |
This is the first remote control touring car I have purchased. What a great deal. RTR Ready to run right out of the box just add batteries and fuel. well except the stickers on the lexan body. |
No time at all was spent on the stock setup. I purchased the blue header and Blue tuned pipe at the same time I bought the kit. I dont think I ever even started it with the original pipe. I added a nice inline fuel filter. 15% heli-fuel to break it in, over half a gallon. |
After the first weekend of racing it I added a Purple custom painted 2000 Silverado body and RPM chrome wheels and HPI super slick touring tires. Still little traction and very hard to control, very very fast. |
The very next week I added a Futaba 3pdf controller and fm recievers to my list of cool things for R/Cing. The Nitro 4-Tec with the new reciever and transmitter was a little tough for a beginner to get adjusted but after serveral tries and some help from a couple great R/C enthusiasts and the 4-Tec is now controllable, but still very very very fast. In fact i remember the last week I raced it during the summer racing season. It won all the heats and main final. I do believe there was a 1/8 car running with us I beat too. |
Even during the last week of racing was when I added the MIP Boost bottle it ran greater than ever Making it easy to win above the other ametuers. I look forward to the summer of 2002 . I bet the others don't. |
During the winter months of 2001 and 2002 I Have purchased a Trans Am HPI body for it and plan on replacing the rims and tires for summer racing, Thinking on Going foam. The XXXS Sedan ran great on foam tires on the pavement. Not sure how well this will work with the nitro factor and the foam. I will report here as results are available |
