I finally purchased the Team Losi Mini-T I had been waiting for, It was a long wait and a really wild deal to get it. I had originally requested 3 of them from a reputable store. they cam in and I was told to come and get them, when I got there, they had been sold. So I went to a local store the day after Thanksgiving and bought three right off the shelf. 2 are presents. and this one has plans for heavy mods. |

Okay as of yesterday the Mini-T is now modified, the only stumble is the servo conversion to the Hi-Tec 55, it doesn't hold center and is very trick to line up the steering arm to be able to adjust the alignment. Oh well it will work until the JR servos that are direct replacements for the stock one arrive. The speed doesn't seem to be as radical as the Micro RS4 but the unavailable pinion I am looking for is on it's way too. The motor went in pretty easy just a little machine work on a very thin motor plate. All the other electronics fit well. I will test run it as soon as I get room to give it a good test. This truck is an absolute blast to drive. with all the mods it performs flawlessly. It jumps large 3 foot jumps with grace and doesn't break. I drove it thru 2 1100 mah 7.2 volts battery packs and it worked great. I may try a bigger pinion but other than that the shocks and suspension are set up real good it goes straight and fast without bouncing down the straight away. I drove it on an indoor off road track used for 1/8 scale nitro and monster trucks and it just drove the whole course jumping and darting thru the turns and plenty of power to ride a large 5 foot berm. More To come soon as soon as it actually gets racing time, BTW I recommend these to everyone even remotely interested in R/C cars and trucks, no pun intended. |
