FUTABA 3PJ Super and HiTec Spectra 75 Synthesized RF Module Compatibility

July, 8th 2002: GREAT NEWS !

This is awesome news, Rumor has it that the Futaba 3PJ Super FM Transmitter is compatible with the HiTec Spectra 75 Synthesized RF Module. Is what I'm saying is I heard through a couple questionable sources that The HiTec Module was compatible and will work with the Futaba Super PJ radio. After purchasing the Futaba Radio at a great price: I found that the crystal was no longer a simple little chip. It's a good sized black plastic module that the frequency can't be modified ( I stand corrected it is easy as changing the crystal in a receiver). The module of choice needs to be purchased separately. UGH ! Okay so while at a local popular hobby store I ran into the HiTec Module and decided that it was the same size and appeared to fit the radio. After purchasing the module I couldn't wait to try it. What a gamble. What a payoff. The module when initially tested appears to work without a glitch. I will be programming the new radio over the next several days and getting all the models and places straightened out for this 8 model memory radio, Testing and making sure that this really works great.

At least for now it appears to work well I have only tested the Micro RS4 with it and a brief check on the TMaxx to see if it was receiving a signal. So far so good I'll keep this page posted as I use and further test this combination.

November 21st, 2002: More GREAT NEWS !

I have all 8 model positions on the radio programmed, 3/ TMaxx's, XXX-NT, Nitro 4-Tec, 2/ Micro RS4's and a XXX-S. I have used the TMaxx's, XXX-NT, and Micro RS4's to actually race with it. The great news is I also have used 3 different types of receivers, 2 Futaba FM's on several frequencies and Novak's adjustable FM receiver. No interference, no glitches, no nothing. I have all different setups for all but the TMaxx's and those even vary a little.

If your as serious about R/C cars and racing them in true competition then this is a must. It works fabulous and can change frequencies in just minutes to any freq available for no cost.

February 24th,2004: More GREAT NEWS

Well the number of models and amounts have changed, there's still a TMaxx on there using a Novak synthesized receiver. In fact the Dominator, The 9.5 MBX, The Micro RS4 Vette, The Pro Mini-T and the Team Associated RCGT10T4 all use Novak Synthesized Novak receivers. The Ultra MBX uses a regular Futaba FM receiver. That's all 7 I am currently racing with. I have never had even a little glitch due to this transmitter receiver combination in any situation, I have race indoors and outdoors and at several very large races. I have also tried the module in a Futaba 3PK transmitter and it worked with a Novak receiver but not the receiver my friend was using in his Koyosho buggy, I will find the brand and type of receiver soon and post it in the next update. For the serious racer this combination is almost as valuable as a personal transponder.

WARNING ! This is NOT a guarantee this will work. WARNING !

But It worked for me !

CHECK BACK SOON !! Updates Often.
